Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, is about to add an unexpected cast member to their list. Paul McCartney is the newest member being added to the pirate gang. Although it has not been confirmed on what his role will be, we are sure that he will be joining Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow, Geoffrey Rush as Barbossa, Javier Bardem as the villainous Captain Salazar, Brenton Thwaites and Kaya Scodelario as new characters, and Orlando Bloom as Will Turner.

There has been a 6 year hiatus for these pirates but they will return to the big screen on May 26, 2017. This means that in a year from now, you will be able to see Captain Jack Sparrow take the high seas. This time his antagonist will come in the form of the deadly Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem). After managing to escape the Devil’s Triangle with his crew, Salazar takes on a mission to kill every pirate alive… and that most definitely includes Captain Jack. Geoffrey Rush, Kevin McNally, Martin Klebba will all be back for another round of adventure, but the big return is Orlando Bloom, who will reprise his role as Will Turner. Joining the series for Dead Men Tell No Tales will also be The Giver star Brenton Thwaites and The Maze Runner’s Kaya Scodelario. Now it is time to see how Sir Paul McCartney will fit into this mix.

Disney Tops The Box Office With Inside Out

inside out 1 Disney tops box offices once again with its newest release of its latest animated film. Inside Out is a 2015 animated comedy fantasy Disney/Pixar film, released on June 19, 2015. It is Pixar’s 15th feature-length animated film. In keeping with Pixar tradition, a short film called Lava accompanied the movie.

Here are some interesting fun facts from this box office hit. Disgust is shaped like a piece of broccoli. And the other emotions have intentional shapes as well: Anger looks like a brick, Fear is tall and thin like a nerve, Joy is shaped like a star, and Sadness resembles a teardrop. Another fact is a team of 45 animators worked on the movie, about half the size of previous Pixar films. Another fun fact is when Riley’s dreams shift into nightmares, the film plays the theme music from Disneyland’s inside out 2Haunted Mansion ride. The last fun fact is the console in headquarters gets bigger as Riley gets older. Grab your popcorn and candy because this is one movie you don’t want to miss.

The Fault in Our Stars: Book Review

The Fault in Our Stars: Book Review

Many of us have most likely heard of the new film that recently came into theaters; The Fault In Our Stars; Originally a book written by John Green. The story line is about Hazel Grace, a girl battling cancer, who comes across Augustus Waters, a cancer survivor, at their weekly Cancer Support Group. In addition to both of them dealing with a life of Cancer, they share something else, they’re in love!the fault in our stars

I’m usually not a big bookworm; it is not often that I find a book with a story line that interests me. But when I saw this book in a Barnes & Noble , I supposed, let me give it a shot. One chapter in and I could not set the book down. The novel was such an easy read and the story kept you wondering, what will happen next?

A Fault In Our StarsI will confess however, of course, the story line was gloomy at some points but also hilarious. There were points in the book where I couldn’t stop laughing.
I have not yet seen the movie. When I first acquired the book, I made a promise to myself that I would finish the book and then see the film. I had the old motto that “the book is always better than the movie” stuck in my head.

I can honestly say, coming from a girl who is not fond of reading, that the book was unquestionably amazing and a must read! Nevertheless, I do recommend reading the novel prior to seeing the film.

The book stands at spot number 9 on USA Today Best Selling Book. If you are looking for the book, you can order it on Amazon.com or pick it up at a book store near you for a reasonable price.

The Wizard of Oz’ Celebrates it’s 75th Anniversary!

wizard-of-oz-original1The classic movie, ‘The Wizard Of Oz’ celebrates it`s 75th anniversary this month. Although the film industry has advanced quite a bit since then, this beloved film is still considered one of the greatest of all times. Here are some interesting and shocking facts of this classic film.

Although the costumes and makeup were considered to be elaborate and vibrant, they were considered to be dangerous! Buddy Ebsen, who played the role of the Tin Man, had to leave the film set due to his lungs becoming filled with aluminum dust. This issue was later fixed but still was considered to be a health risk. Another example of the danger caused by the make up, was the make up that Margaret Hamilton wore to portray the Wicked Witch . This copper based makeup was poisonous and she was put on a liquid diet during the film to prevent health problems.

One of the most famous dogs in film`s history to this day is Toto. Toto`s real name is Terry and is a female. Toto was paid $125 per week to appear in the film. Although she put in a lot more work, Judy Garland was paid $500 a week for her iconic role as Dorothy.

The debut of ‘The Wizard Of Oz’ was a huge success and will forever be recognized. This film was nominated for six Oscars. The film won two of those nominations. One Oscar was for its score and the other for the song “Over The rainbow”, which was almost cut from the film.

75 years seems like quite a bit of time but this film will always live on as an American favorite.
